7 months

Look who’s 7 months old! Couple of major things happened in the last month. I think the best is Diya’s sleeping. I hope I don’t jinx myself here, but she’s been sleeping really well. After she got over most of her sickness I re-did the whole sleep training thing. Luckily second time around wasn’t bad at all. She can now sleep about 7 hrs straight. This brought on another major change…we moved her crib into her room. Until last weekend she was sleeping in our room. I think the move has actually helped her sleep better. Seems like she’s adjusted fine, but me…I walk over to her room 2-3 times a night to make sure she is breathing. We have the monitor on, but I don’t trust it. On top of my paranoia…Diya now flips over in her sleep. So I’m constantly worried about suffocation although the risk reduces at her age. She is a crazy sleeper…this picture was taken last week when she was still in our room…every day she’s in a new position in the morning and so far most shocking was when I found her lying upside down and sideways. Next time I'll be sure to take a photo of it.

Here are her pictures from the last month. Will post more videos once we (have time to) figure out how to upload from our new digi camcorder. The difference is so amazing!

ears pierced

I’ve been wanting to get Diya’s ears pierced for awhile now. But there was always something in the way. First few months I just felt she was too young, then she had her ‘hey I have ears!’ stage where she was constantly pulling on her ears, then I went back to work, then she got sick…so finally on Friday we decided to just go for it. My little trooper did really well. She cried for both ears, but within minutes she was herself again…but much cuter since she had earrings on ;-) She doesn’t really notice them. She hasn’t tried to touch them so I’m guessing they aren’t causing her any pain or itch. What she does hate is when I have to clean(disinfect) the area. I don’t think it hurts her, it probably just feels really cold…whatever it is…she doesn’t like it.
I tried to get some nice pics yesterday evening with her ‘new look’, but she wouldn't stay still at all. You get the gist of it from the ones I posted here.

post 6 months

My original idea(had they won) was to post a picture of Diya wearing a Patriots outfit. Since they lost I’m just gonna stay away from the whole topic.

Lots of stuff going on…I went back to work. I started a new job last Wednesday. Diya started her daycare last Monday. She totally loves it. She loves all the different toys and seeing the others kids walking around. The teachers feed her, change her and put her down for her naps. She does fine in everything. In general she likes daycare. As for me…that is a totally different story. In the beginning I felt like such a bad mother leaving my baby with strangers. First couple of days with put Diya at the daycare as sort of trial days… I got home after leaving her and I seriously couldn’t think straight. I couldn’t focus on anything. All I could think of was Diya and how/what she was doing. I was in tears in no time and told Premal to bring her home soon as possible. I had heard stories, but never thought I would be one of those moms. But since then its gotten much better. My job keeps my thoughts occupied and I’ve gotten used to the whole thing.

Other major thing…Diya is getting her first tooth! At her 6 month appt. doc said she would be getting a tooth in 2 weeks and she was exactly right. She seems to be doing well with the whole teething thing. Only thing is that she has her first cold. Not sure if its cause of the tooth or if I gave it to her since I was the one that was sick originally. Poor thing has a runny nose, stuffy nose and cough. I feel so bad seeing her in this condition. The doctor said there are no meds we can give her. Long as she doesn’t have a fever there isn’t really much to worry about and it the cold take its course.

Before she got sick we got some pictures done(as you can see). Diya did so well this time around. Last time she was only 3 months old and she cried the whole time. We were only able to get one decent pose out of her. This time she was laughing and very cooperative. We wanted only one package, but ended up spending way more than expected. I guess its just the beginning for that. Here are the rest of the proofs if you want to see them.
